Project FEED (Feed Everyone Every Day)
Through Project FEED (Feed Everyone Every Day), more than 175 homeless and disadvantaged children, family members, elderly, and disabled individuals receive a meal each night of our now biweekly feeding program at our site on 22nd Street here in Tucson. In addition to a hot meal, we provide emergency food boxes and have men’s, women’s, children’s and infant’s clothing available for the taking.
Through community need and awareness of the reliability of this program to be in the same location on the same days for the past 16+ years, Project FEED has grown immensely.
Most food subsidy programs require legal forms of identification before dispensing food whether on an as needed or continuing basis. Often this documentation is lost in through frequent moves or evacuation of a violent situation. Although documentation can be replaced, it often takes a very long time to receive these records. In the meantime, families rely on receiving food from sources that insist on identification but will respond immediately to their hunger. The Giving Tree is one such place. If a person is hungry, we will feed them – no prerequisites.
